Northwood Middle School Career Day

We sincerely hope that your business or organization will be represented at Northwood’s Career Day. Your participation will have a significant impact on FWCS students as they prepare to identify their vocation. If you or your team would like to participate in the event, please use the Sign Up link. Career Day will be set up presentation-style with volunteers rotating to classrooms to speak with students. Northwood’s Career Day is scheduled for Tuesday, January 31, 2023 and will take place at Northwood Middle School from 7:45 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. LOCATION: Northwood Middle School 1201 E Washington Center Rd Fort Wayne, IN 46825

Focus Forward

Serving 16-24 year olds that have significant barriers to employment and are currently not enrolled in traditional schooling throughout northeast Indiana Education and paid employment opportunities that will lead to vocational success! Provides paid Work Experiences with guided pathways leading to long term jobs. The Be SomeOne Now program is a joint program of SCAN, Inc. and Northeast Indiana Works, which is part of the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

Marion Regional Career Center

College bound? Career bound? Need skills that will help you get a job after you graduate high school? MRCC is the RIGHT PLACE FOR YOU! Career and technical education courses help students explore their interests and career possibilities, and prepare for a career of interest. Content of career and technical education courses includes academic subject matter taught with relevance to the real world, job-related activities and workplace ethics. At MRCC, CTE students can earn high school credit and college credit while working toward a specific nationally recognized certification. Programs include aviation, biomed, construction, culinary arts (Giant Bistro), education, pharmacology, physical therapy, public safety, and more! Most MRCC classes have a home base at Marion High School campus, at 750 W. 26th St. Some classes are held at other locations, including aviation classes held at Marion Regional Airport and construction classes held at various building sites.

Then join us on campus to get the hands-on experience you need for a successful career.

Office of Work-Based Learning and Apprenticeship

You may be able to secure a registered apprenticeship as young as 16 years old. Learn more at www.in.gov/dwd/owbla, where you can use an apprenticeship finder to search for opportunities, apply directly with the employer or sponsor, or simply learn about apprenticeship, pre-apprenticeship and Certified State Earn and Learn (SEAL) programs.
